Special Education Teacher – Autism Support
مکان عمل: بغدادJob Title: Special Education Teacher – Autism Support Location: Baghdad Job Type: Full-Time Reports To: Education Director / Principal ________________________________________ Job Overview: The Special Education Teacher will work with children and adolescents diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a structured educational environment. The teacher is responsible for creating and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), delivering instruction tailored to students’ needs, and collaborating with families and support staff to enhance student development. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities: • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s developmental, academic, and behavioral goals. • Deliver effective, evidence-based instruction in literacy, numeracy, life skills, and social communication. • Manage a classroom environment that promotes positive behavior, inclusion, and emotional well-being. • Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, and behavior specialists. • Track student progress and prepare regular reports for parents, caregivers, and the education team. • Modify curricula and use assistive technologies to support diverse learning styles and needs. • Engage with parents through regular communication, parent-teacher meetings, and training workshops. • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines for special education. ________________________________________ Qualifications: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field. • Valid teaching certification with special education endorsement. • Experience working with children with autism or developmental disabilities. • Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), TEACCH, PECS, or other autism support methodologies. • Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills. • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting children with special needs. ________________________________________ Preferred Skills: • Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) tools. • Bilingual (depending on the student population). • CPR and first aid certification.
